This book is an introduction to the competition policies of the ten Asean countries. Each country chapter begins with an overview of the economy. The author also explains the forces that are opening up the economies of these countries, as well as the rational economic forces that Max Weber highlighted in his work on the Protestant Ethic and the Rise of Capitalism and the workings of the invisible hand as articulated by Adam Smith. The deregulation and liberalization of markets in Southeast Asia is also touched upon.
