This series of books is intended for students aged between 9 and 15 and deals with ‘confusing words’. By ‘confusing words’ we mean pairs of words that can cause confusion because the two words have some kind of similarity with each another. Usually they are either pronounced in the same way, or they are spelt using almost the same letters.

    Each unit follows the same pattern. A short explanation is given of why two particular words are sometimes confused. The true meanings of the words are explained and illustrated with examples. Each pair of words is then presented in an everyday or humorous situation illustrated by a set of four cartoons with captions or dialogue. The aim, as always, is to increase learners’ confidence and ability to use the vocabulary correctly in different contexts.
