This Text contains eight units.Each unit focuses on a different theme and contains five parts as follows:
PART I:warm-up Gives some ideas of what is going to be covered in the unit.
PART II: Language study Reviews some basic grammar as well as specific problem areas in grammar and vocabulary.
PART III:Pronunciation Focuses on stress,intonation,contractions,and sound contrasts.
PART IV:Dialogs Shows how the language in focus is used in comtext.This part also contains Conversational Focus,which presents functions,conversational expressions,and socio-cultural information.
PART V: Practice Provides a variety of lishtening-speaking activities which are carried out in difereint modes--individual,pair work,group work or whole class.The activities move from controlled to ferre practice.
