All children should learn to write legibly. Most children acquire the ability to write fluently with ease and reasonable speed as a result of direct teaching and regular practice from an early age. Systematic work to develop handwriting skills to form letters and words correctly can begin once children have acquired the necessary physical control of their writing tools/pencils.

    This series of three handwriting books provides the structured framework young children will need to make a correct start to developing handwriting skills. The activities in the books have been creatively designed to motivate children to master the mechanics of handwriting in a fun and meaningful way whilst promoting their oral, listening and reading skills. Detailed notes for adults with suggestions for conducting and extending the activities are available, so that they can take an active role in helping children in the process of developing clear and legible handwriting.
