Exploring Drama Books 1 and 2 were specially written to cater for the meeds of Lower Secondary school students in Singapore. The books, now in their Second Edition, each contain a varied selection of plays and thought-provoking activities which offer scope for the development of students' dramatic and theatrical skills as well as improving their language abilities.

The plays also provide opportunities for literary study through the analysis of character and plot and through the exploration of dramatic features such as tension, climax, cause and effect, motive and relationships. A section on Creative Writing is a feature of each thematic Unit, involving the re-creation of aspects of each play in a variety of forms. Many of these approaches will stand students in good stead in studying a play selection at the upper secondary level in preparation for the 'O' level Literature examination.

Above all, these two books will enable both students and teachers to enjoy themselves when trying out some fo the skills which actors, directors and technicians put to use when staging a play.
