'The Charm of Lanna Wood Carving', completed in 1994, is the last in the collection, the first being 'The Art of Thai Wood Carving : Ayutthaya, Ratanakosin', and the second being 'The Soul of Isan Wood Carving', published in 1992 and 1993 respectively.   

    Although 3 years is not a short period of time, it is not much for a work of this nature which requires careful academic research as well as a collection of photographs which can be used in publication. It seemed that the longer the time spent, the more the different details broke off into branches until it   appeared that the task could never be accomplished. With deeper study, the details became more and more specific and more than necessary for this book. When it came to photographs, it seemed that on matter how many photographs were taken or how many photographers were used, there were always more photographs which had not been taken. Under the limitations that came with the production of this book, choices were made and editing carried out until the final product is what is seen here. However it is held that this book gives a complete coverage of all the important details of Lanna woodcarving. A better or more detailed presentation would require separating headings and publishing separate books with additional information for each heading. In fact, this could be done for almost every heading in this collection, regardless of which region the woodcarving belongs to.
